ABOUT
CLEAN BEAUTY
Clean Beauty is a worldwide movement of young consumers who expect and demand that their personal beauty products are safe for people and the planet. It's a simple as that!
MISSION & HISTORY.
Did you know that the cosmetics we use don’t have to be verified as safe? People are rightly shocked and appalled that our cosmetic products have been found to include asbestos and other toxic chemicals and carcinogens. It makes no sense that products we trust to apply to our lips and skin do not need to be tested and verified as safe.
The Clean Beauty Action Network is a grassroots, youth-led, nonprofit organization that empowers our generation to lead the charge in transforming the cosmetics industry into a safer, greener, and more ethical landscape through scientific research, public education, and advocacy. Our mission is to promote clean beauty – safe for people, and safe for the planet.
CBAN was founded by teen influencer and aspiring chemist Daphne Nguyen. When Daphne became aware of the threat to personal and environmental health due to unregulated beauty products, she founded CBAN to organize youth voices to do something about it. The chemistry of environmental toxins is a key area of study for Daphne, and through CBAN she involves other teen consumers of beauty products to learn about these issues and leverage their collective voices.
Together we’ll reshape the future of beauty to be clean and safe for people and the planet.
FOR PEOPLE & THE PLANET
CLEAN BEAUTY COMMUNITY
The Clean Beauty community is a worldwide movement to demand that the beauty products we purchase our safe for people and the planet. Most consumers assume this is already the case and are shocked to find out that the cosmetics industry is essentially unregulated. This is a matter of consumer protection, so you know that the beauty products you apply to your body do not contain harmful toxins. It is also a matter of global environmental protection, so the by-products of these products do not run off into the water supply to forever pollute the ecosystem with harmful plastics and toxins. These are simple and ethical commitments that all manufacturers and distributors should abide by, and the Clean Beauty community will hold them accountable through its purchasing power.
